About Our Site

SustainableBuild was formed to offer a unique reference point on sustainable building, development and eco construction techniques.

Today, everyone has heard about eco-friendly building, but what really lies behind all the talk of carbon-neutral homes, alternative energy sources and those unfamiliar construction techniques? It’s exactly these questions - and many more besides - that SustainableBuild sets out to answer in an informative, interesting and thoroughly readable way. With a comprehensive range of easily understood features and articles specially written by a panel of experts, the site offers a thorough grounding in everything anyone new to the whole green-building idea needs to know.

Of course, there are other internet resources and there’s already a lot of information available elsewhere, but what makes this site different is the way it takes a broad view of the whole topic and then focuses in on the practical aspects that really matter. Bringing everything together in one place, the site is designed to provide an easily-accessible, one-stop UK resource, providing impartial information and advice on everything from financing your build to choosing your design and building it.

Whether you’re a complete beginner trying to find out what sustainable building is all about, or already knowledgeable, but looking for a little extra information, then SustainableBuild is definitely for you.

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.

Our Background

SustainableBuild was founded by John Rowlinson, the founder of PtS.

John, through PtS, is involved in a number of ventures including software and property companies. A percentage of revenue from these activities goes towards funding SustainableBuild and a number of similar sites.

Our focus is simply on having experts create the highest quality information possible that is widely read.
